The Gongs Strike Back

Highlight of my day? Easy. Reunion with my KC gang again.

I don’t get to meet up with these girls very often (in fact, we only do so when Sara comes back these days), but when we do, I can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy in my innards.

We had dinner at the Maid Cafe in CHIJMES. Vic works there normally. The setting was really nice actually (though the French maids thing kinda creeped me out a bit) and the food was awesome.

It was great that so many of us could come. Rachel, Sara, Grace, Candice, Vanessa, Vic, PJ… I really missed hanging out with everyone, catching up with them, reminiscing about our blue pinafore days… -shudders- All this topped off with some of the weirdest sauce I’ve ever heard of.

Anyway, after a fantastic dinner, and chary condiments, we made our way to Timbre at Armenian street to watch a performance by Vic’s friend’s band. They were quite good really. Though we would have liked to hear some of their own compositions rather than doing simply requests from the audience. The photos from Timbre will go up another time since they’re on Vanessa’s camera. =)

We had a pretty long wait in line for a table in Timbre, during which the Nanyang Chronicles people called me up for an interview regarding MM Lee’s forum last night. I would rather email them so I would have time to organize my thoughts, but I suppose they have deadlines to meet as well. I could only give my comments about the last question regarding censorship and my take on how creativity needs constraints. I also mentioned my question about foreign companies in Singapore (i.e., LAS) and the need for locally produced content, but felt it was not right to put in print so asked for it to be omitted. First time doing an interview really. Strange feeling.

I had a glass of tequila sunrise! =D Lol… We walked it off to paradiz centre where we played arcade! Ahhh… Its been too long!

Ah well… through all the fun and games… I hope you’re okay. Not even sure if you read my blog anyway. But be strong. We’re all here for you. And we will totally trash that guy given the chance. We’re by your side and behind you all the way. Mess with one of us and you’re taking on all of us man.
