Chez Zhong

Posted by Ying Huang on May 3, 2008

Today was really really tiring. We walked all over the damn place. But felt old and went back early to nap… till dinner. =D

Today we went to the Arc du Triomphe. No idea how to spell it. But the size was mind boggling. I figured it might be tall enough so I would need to stand upon a chair to reach the ceiling. Bloody tall chair…

Unglam moment! Re packing Pa’s camera bag. We tend to do it alot. Suddenly squat in the middle of the road to pack the bag, change lens… Wonder why we weren’t arrested for suspicious behavior yet.

While waiting for our appointment in HSBC… We walked over to the Louis Vuitton next door to find a line outside of it! Strange…. =\

And we saw this really funny looking building (which was actually a reflection). I really dunno who that lady in the photo is. When I whipped out my camera, she turned around and posed. WTH.

Grand Palais! And MINI!!!! MINI TAKES OVER THE WORLD!!!

Then we crossed the Pont Alexandre III, said to be one of the most beautiful bridges in Paris. They love their gold. Dunno why they like this one so much anyway. It’s painted BABY BLUE…

And has acts that would enrage the SPCA. Look at this boy angel torturing this mutant lizard-dog-fish.

The purpose of crossing the bridge? To get to the Invalides, or where Napoleon’s body is held. In front is this famous garden. Ma said “hao xiang niu da bian” (like cow shit).

Each cannon has it’s own name! This one is called La Bombarde. And it’s so wide I can barely hug it.

Then we went into the Dome Church (probably so named cause there’s a dome – not like any other church we’ve seen. No no. Definitely not. =.=) The church held the remains of lots of famous army people like Napoleon’s elder brother, Joseph B. (i’m putting it in initials cause I can’t spell it)

Napoleon’s tomb.

Suddenly…. We went to MuseĆ© Rodin! I love! Here is The Kiss by Rodin.

The Gates of Hell (I wrote a paper on this in Year 1)

The Thinker.

And this car with awesome navigation system…

Dinner was at Chez Zhong. the smaller pot is mine!

We had steamboat! =D Yay!

A bit funny how we come all the way here and eat Chinese food half the time. XD But I miss asian food. Too much western food will eventually make me lose weight cause I can never finish even one portion.

I MISS MY TENG TENG… =( Meh.
