Didn’t blog yesterday cause I’m such a lazy piece of crap smeared across the bathroom of a metro station.
Speaking of metro… There’s a common sight in the Paris underground. Buskers in the train! Fantastic music while on a tiresome journey.

A tiresome journey to…
My workplace!

Okay. that’s nt my workplace. But really near it. The neighborhood in which Ubisoft is in is really kinda… Shady. Okay. Quiet. And creepy. First thing that greeted us when we came out of the station was a chinese super market! Selling 80% black bananas. =( But they DO have… MAGGI SAUCE!!!
Anyway, a 15 minute walk brought us down rue Marceau to 66/72, this glorious building that is to be my workplace starting tomorrow. The place is enormous. My camera could only capture the front door. the complex spans deeper inside as well. Going to have hell finding the studio tomorrow.

Here is a shot of the street the building is on. Not exactly what you might expect for one of the largest game developers in the world. (I actually feel guilty playing EA games on my psp. I hope they don’t scan my psp and find the game)

We walked down the “10 minute walk” towards my apartment. A journey that lasted a good 20 minutes (including periods of self doubt by the roadside with a map)

My apartment wasn’t too bad really. Nearer to St Mande station and a heck of alot of super marchés and eateries. I’m happy!
We then headed to Galleries Lafayétte, a HUGE shopping mall that spans at least 4 HUGE buildings. Huge. Didn’t do much there cept buy a dictionary and a map. =D
Then we went to Musée de Pompidou! Paris’ museum of modern art! I have a shot of the cool outside on my flickr. Everything that should be on the inside is hung gloriously on the outside (i.e., escalators, sewage pipes, etc) Here are some of the awesome pieces I liked in the museum.

I LOVE THE RHINO!!!

And I LOVE this piece.

Then we headed back to the hotel to… Sleep. =D Before going out for dinner at a nice restaurant along Avenue Kleber. I really liked this place! Great service, great food and LIVE FOOTBALL MATCHES!!! On tv. =D Paris vs Toulouse. Paris was leading 1-0 nearing the end of the second half.
I had the best lamb chops EVER here. It was glorious. It was amazing. My tummy is rumbling just thinking about it.

And finished it all off with this fantastic crémé brulée. =D it was cold on the inside and hot/crispy on the surface. MMMMMMMMMM!!!!

This morning we woke up bright and early to go to… macdonalds. Along Champs Elysée. =\ It wasn’t so bad really. And much cheaper than the 14 euros per head in the hotel (macs was only 6 euros).
Then we took a train down to Lá Defénse. =D Glorious building that I studied in year 1. Huge ass too. Look at them tiny people!

and it’s right on the line to Arc du Triomphe!!!

CAN YOU SEE THE BIG THUMB.

Then we went to the Louvre! Today was free cause its the first Sunday of the month. =D Lots of people all around!

The ducks were enjoying themselves too! Day out at the Louvre!

The Musée du Louvre is HUGE. Huge is not big enough a word to fully describe how bloody big the place is. We walked non-stop for 3 hours and couldn’t even cover half of their 35,000 pieces across 60,000 sq metres. here’s a shot of ONE of the rooms. it’s like 1/150 of the place.

Venus de Milo!

Psychie and Cupid!

LARGE FORMAT PAINTINGS ROOM (1/3)

Raft of Medusa!!!

Olympia! year 1s! Remember this painting?

Winged victory! NIKE!!!

Virgin on the rocks by Leonardo da Vinci!

AND…. DADADADAAAAAA
THE MONA LISA

Then smatterings of strange installation art.

Vermeer’s LaceMaker

TADA!!!
Discovered people here like to say “VOILA!” when they serve food.
AND I’M MISSING MY BABY!!!!
