I haven’t felt productive in a while.
Especially today.
But it was strangely rather fruitful filled with serendipity. This is actually the first time in my life I’m using that word. It comes with a very strange romantic notion that has nothing at all to do with my day. Aside from my girlfriend being really mushy to me like a cute little potato. =D
So I walked to work. As I always do. And there was yet another pipe that had burst along the road. This is the second one in 2 days. It’s becoming a daily occurrence now. I might actually feel strange, dry and chapped tomorrow all over if I don’t see a burst pipe.
The water from this gushing little thing on the side of the pavement drooled for about 2 blocks in 4 directions (since it was so close to the junction). It was A LOT of water too, not just little dribbles, if that’s what you’re thinking. I mean, just look at it!
Work itself was rather uneventful. I continued working on the transitions. When my manager came over to see it, he liked my progress and told me to load it onto the shared server so it may be used in the game. =D Tomorrow I will be working on animating people dying. =\ Rather morbid, but much more interesting to animate, compared to a guy doing squats.
After work, I headed back to the apartment to check if my DHL box had arrived. It hadn’t. Stupid DHL. They said it would take 2 days, but it’s already been 5. Sigh… Since my box had not arrived, i contemplated walking over to the McDonald’s over in Porte de Montreuil (a good 3.2km away) to have dinner and continue hacking my ipod. But after a stint in front of the computer talking to Charmaine and Teng, I lost interest in walking so far, opting instead for a nearer Macs that wasn’t on the wifi hotspots list.
This macs was along Rue de Paris (sounds glamorous, but it’s a rather dodgy looking road) and on the way there I strolled past the Ubisoft main office!
And following Ubisoft tradition (as I have noticed), they don’t have a big glamorous sign. Just some small logo on the side of a loading bay. =\ My studio doesn’t even have a logo on the door… It’s not even listed on the building’s directory…
Anyway, the Macs I went to (that was much nearer) happened to have wifi! And I loaded everything I wanted onto the ipod, forgetting summer board (of all things. GAH!)
It doesn’t work perfectly yet. Customize still doesn’t work (I think it is because I have a chicken and not a cow) and the dictionary I loaded isn’t there. But I have all the January applications without paying for them! Whoo!
When I got back, I was bored. So I started drawing. It’s not finished yet, but my eyes were screaming at me to stop it. I KNOW IT’S UGLY. =\ I haven’t drawn properly since Year 1…
Shall continue tomorrow. Shame I drew it in pencil… I don’t have fixative… =( At least now I have something to do when my eyes refuse to focus anymore on those happily auto-interpolating IK handles…
