Sunday 8th June 2008
Today I walked past a woman who smelled like she was smoking a fire sparkler. I wondered absent-mindedly if it was one of those new-fangled kinds that whistled loudly when lit, and what color it would be. Then began to wonder how she could possibly keep one of those in her mouth without singeing her eyebrows off or having her clothes catch fire. Then turned to pondering why her fire sparkler was so short and thick anyway. Then remembered it was a cigarette.
Sundays are lazy in Paris. So lazy that half the stores don’t open. Everyone just feels compelled to be cumulatively lazy. I felt lazy too. Hence I spent my morning in front of my computer engaged in a healthy buzz of activity.
Listening to songs on my iTunes, playing my PSP, enjoying a can of 7-up and chips and watching a Michael Moore film. All at the same time.
I don’t really like Sundays. There’s nothing to do on a Sunday. Doesn’t help when the internet is still down and a whole slew of net-related maladies decided to plague my mind today.
Like how we lost our artdesignmedia.net domain to some sad sod. I feel sad. And outraged. All vented out on my pack of moyenne frites (medium fries).
Monday 9th June 2008
I’m sick today. I woke up sick, went to work sick, ran a fever while finishing off 17 animations in 7 hours, zoned out several times in front of the screen, passed out on my desk during lunch.
Yeah. I’m sick.
Some good news though. The internet is back (though at the time I’m typing this in my little textedit box, wordpress.com is not) and running like a gem. Never felt so happy to see firefox. I also got my pay slip today that announced in pretty print that I had been taxed 200 euros. For what? I have no idea at all.
I feel really cold. Been really cold the entire day. But Teng says I should freak the fever out of me with the cold. Well, not in those exact words.
My head hurts so bad…
I spent the conscious half of my lunch time writing the draft of the constitution for the future Nanyang Technological University School of Art, Design & Media Alumni Association. Yeah. I know. What a mouthful. The acronym NTUSADMAA doesn’t seem any shorter either. It’s quite a mental workout trying to figure out how best to put things down in the most complex language imaginable.
After writing the draft I’m going to start looking for people who would want to help with this…
Now is the best time to get started and ADM is the only school in the position to do this since we haven’t had our first batch of graduates yet (other schools have some problems trying to get contacts of people who have already left and all.)
OW MY BRAIN.
