And Home Again

So.. I’m back. =D From where you say? Lots and lots of pictures. Click below to see more.
But first, some updates.
GAMSAT results were released on Friday. I got a 64/59/55 which places me at the 72 percentile, and perhaps enough to get me an interview. Last night, I applied to Monash and University of Sydney, though I think they rather automatically tossed me to U of Syd’s Dentistry and Pharmacy department. The 2010 admissions guide seems odd this year (odder than usual anywho) with the GPA requirements seemingly lower than 2009. I’m not sure if this is because of the lower number of students applying or if it’s a SIGN FROM BUDDHA!!!
My early morning nonsense aside, now I just have to wait for my results to be out next Friday. I am expecting a….
C, C, B, C, S
Gah…
With those scores, I think I can only apply to dentistry… GAH!!!
Anywho… Pictures.
After close to 3 weeks in Melbourne, home tastes… Warm and humid. But it’s home. =) Over there, my daily routine was pretty much… routine. Wake up, make the bed, make some tea, drink tea, shower, go out, eat lunch, walk around, eat dinner, watch Master Chef, play Sudoku, sleep. Repeat where necesary.
My first sunset down under!
Met up with Sara and Max for some Koko Black. I like Koko black! It’s yummy! This is a shot of the Belgian Hot Chocolate.

Max and Sara!

The really nice warm chocolate cake. The twirly thing on top is like a biscuit thing… The red thing is like a bubbly sorbet thing…

Lunch! Consisting of mango something… And turkish food that looked increasingly like cat vomit the more we poked at it. But it was yummy nevertheless. =D

DOOLAN VAN!!! hahahahahaha Sounds suspiciously like something vulgar.

I was escorted to Camberwell over the first weekend to purchase really cheap Havaiana slippers. 10 dollars is a steal!

We got some really nice Nutrient Water… That didn’t look too nutritious.

Advertising the nutrient water…

Loose wire on the tram! Looked rather suspicious and like it had better things to do than lie on the ground…

After my cheapo jelly, Sara brought me to Shoya! Really really really pricy place oozing with avarice. I was shielded from their overly rich rays by my cheapo hoodie and layers upon layers of cheapo clothes.
38 dollars for a lunch set consisting of…
Sashimi on a frozen lemon

Chawanmushi with interesting but unidentifiable objects.

Strange fried objects containing crab, mushrooms and something else, dipped in a sauce that looked like it was made from sea urchins.

Sushi! With hidden wasabi!

Wagyu beef, rice, miso soup

And finished off with a green tea ice cream.

Overall, totally awesome meal. Lol. Worth the 38 dollars. Thought it would cost more though.
Then back to the cheapo meals.
Lunch at Victoria Market and my experience with Lemon Lime & Bitters. It’s BITTER. =\

Went to Crown! Won money! Picture of that will be below.

SCAMPI!!! expensive, succulent prawny things.

So this was at the Waterfront at Crown. Supposedly the most expensive meal of my entire trip (actually it was. Nevermind the supposedly). But the food, despite all the hype, wasn’t really up to scratch. In fact, in each dish, there was something yummy.
The crab in this crab and prawn pasta.

The capers on this whole flounder.

The pumpkins in this blue fin fillet.

Notice something? It’s not the fish that’s yummy. =\ RWARR!!! But the pumpkins were lovely.
Nearby was Grecko (or however you spell it) where they sold sinful cakes like the one below. They look less like cakes than piles of mess made by a kid who decided to throw anything and everything on a tray.

It was really misty when we left Crown… Mirroring our mood having lost the money at the tables.

Some days later, we tried hunting for a toilet at a shopping centre. The signs were… Misleading.

The trail of signs led us up two floors and down a dingy corridor to find the washroom. =.= Stupid signs.
St Kilda’s on the next weekend to catch the Sunday Market! In which I didn’t buy anything, though the puppets were really cute…

I love this van!

No idea where this is. But we tried looking for a toilet here, only to find ourselves in the Dungeon of Magic (despite the cool name, it was actually a room in the basement where people huddle around playing Magic the Gathering)

Happy rice!

I think I’ve taken a photo of these shoes before…

Melbourne Museum!!!

Melbourne Exhibition Hall… Or something…

Great Ocean Road!!! They look happy in the strong currents… And the unexpected waves look more like pleasantly surprisingly waves

Sara and I on the Ocean Road!

12 Apostles!

Now photos from my phone! Bread Top sold this weird thing…

Chocolate from Koko Black!

Sara’s butter sugar bread.

The money we won in the jackpot! One dollar gave us 10 dollars! Which we then lost at the tables.

Korean food at the Oriental Spoon!

More detailed post another time…
